Dreamers

Jasmin's Letter Jasmin
On the behalf of all the Dreamers I would like to thank all of the people, like our sponsors, board members, and mentors, who supported us and continue to support us on our journey to success. The I Have a Dream program is a foundation built off the dream that us, the Dreamers, are and will be the future. Based off this dream, the foundation provides us with endless sources that will benefit us in achieving our goals. The program makes it their mission to stop at nothing to make sure each dreamer has the tools and everything else he or she needs to accomplish their dreams.

The I Have a Dream foundation doesn't generalize their support. They focus on each and every Dreamer individually. A lot of times I wonder, how do they do it? How is it that they can be very strict on me to raise my grades, providing me with tutors and other help to do so, and at the same time take my younger sister to a 3.0 Honor Roll dinner to award her for her good grades? Then I think about it and realize the I Have a Dream foundation isn't just one person trying to keep track of all the Dreamers. The program is a family away from home that gives you the acknowledgement and rewards for your accomplishments, but also gives you the help and tough love for your failures.

I've been a Dreamer since I was five years old. Throughout my whole life the IHAD foundation is all I've ever known. I Have a Dream has provided me with countless amounts of knowledge that I apply in my everyday life. IHAD has taken me places such as; Washington D.C, California, and Atlanta showing me colleges and sites that I would have never seen on my own. They have taught me things like banking, financing, and evaluating loans by taking me to actual banks and learning these task hands on through experience. But, the IHAD program has not only been there for me when I was doing well; but they were there when I was at an extreme low for myself. During my senior year my grades started falling and my attendance count was getting lower by the week. When the foundation noticed this down fall they immediately took action, providing me with academic help and emotional support and encouragement. With my family and IHAD behind me supporting me the whole way I turned everything around and graduated with an Honors Diploma, and I thank I Have a Dream for that.

I Have a Dream is literally a Foundation of dreams. It's filled with adults who care and believe in us as well as our dreams. Every Dreamer is blessed to be a part of the foundation. If and when we all continue to take advantage of the help, support, and endless opportunities IHAD presents us with, we will be successful and live up to the dream of all of our supporters; and become the future!
